Language Centre

The Language Centre of the University of Turku is an autonomous institution directly under the central administration of the university. The Director and the Language Centre Board are responsible for the activities, development and administration of the institution.

The main task of the Language Centre is the provision of courses in Language for Specific Purposes. In addition, the Language Centre arranges voluntary courses and optional courses in general language skills from elementary level. The Centre also offers the possibility for independent language study in the Self-study Area.

The goal of the teaching and other activities of the Language Centre is to develop the language and communication skills of university undergraduate and postgraduate students and personnel, and to promote intercultural understanding and facilitate the internationalisation process within the university.
