International Exchange study module
Teacher responsible: Jane Honka
A study module carries a minimum of 15 ECTS credits. The module mainly consists of courses taken in the Language Centre, but may also include courses at the required level pursued elsewhere. At least 10 ECTS(2/3) of the study module should be from B2-level English courses offered by the University of Turku Language Centre. The Language Centre will decide whether to approve courses pursued elsewhere as part of the study module.
Objectives
- to facilitate students who participate in international exchange
- to help students to gain the maximum benefit from their exchange experience
- to offer guidance in planning tasks
- to support mid-exchange and return stages of the exchange
The module may contain, for example, the following courses:
Preparing for Work/Study Abroad (2 op)
Intercultural Communication (2-3 op)
Acting as an international tutor (for incoming exchange students) (1 op)
Language and culture tandem (2 op)
Guided Self-study (GSS) (1-5 op)
Basic Academic Writing (2 op)
English Communication Skills: Intensive course (2 op)
Language studies (B1>) in language of country of exchange (4 op)
Travel log (2 op)
